Jury Awards Pardalis Technology $19.5 Million against IBM
Expert testimony from Upstream Partners’ Mark Chandler in a jury trial that awarded Pardalis Technology $19.5 million in damages.
Mark Chandler, Managing Director of Upstream Partners, provided analysis and trial testimony on damages on behalf of Pardalis Technology Licensing, LLC in patent litigation against IBM related to blockchain technology.
Upstream worked with the law firm of Nelson, Bumgardner Conroy and provided analysis on patent damages related to the alleged infringement of two patents addressing common point authoring systems for tracking and authenticating objects in a distribution chain, U.S. Patent Nos. 7,136,869 and 8,307,000. Upstream’s analysis was directed towards the economic contribution of the patented technology in IBM’s blockchain technology solutions.
Mr. Chandler submitted an expert report and provided damages testimony at deposition and at trial in the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Chandler’s analysis was supported by a team of Upstream analysts led by Juhee Park. The jury awarded damages of $19.5 million.
