A Spanish software development company asked Upstream to conduct a valuation of its intellectual property (IP) assets for use in a restructuring of the business.  The company’s assets consisted of copyright protected software algorithms and operational platforms for use in power management and communications within multiple fields

The company had developed two principal products/service offerings in the energy sector.  One allows entities to intelligently monitor and operate electrical grids in real time and has been deployed on a global basis.  The other is a novel algorithm that solves the power flow equations of electric power systems using a direct, constructive procedure.
