Patient Care Model and Program - Sale of Assets

BACKGROUND

Upstream's client, a university-based initiative, developed an evidence-based patient care model that was internationally recognized. The client and university sought to transition the program and IP assets to a commercial partner, to meet the needs and demand of the marketplace.

OUR ANALYSIS

Upstream led the IP monetization efforts, which involved the following:

  • Developing the value proposition and marketing materials for the program's training, education and related services;

  • Identifying parties with potential strategic interest in assuming the program;

  • Negotiating with 10+ interested parties, and structuring the final agreement terms.

OUTCOME

The university sold the program and its IP assets within six months of Upstream’s engagement.
