With over forty years of working in the development of new business opportunities, Greg has extensive experience in technology valuation, licensing, and patentability assessment. Specializing in the areas of plant biotechnology, animal health, crop protection, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and the material sciences, he has evaluated, acquired and licensed numerous early stage technologies developed at universities and research institutes throughout Europe, North America, and Australia.
Initially, as a field development representative for the Rohm and Haas Company, Greg applied his training in plant genetics towards the development of hybrid wheat seed production using chemical hybridization agents. While at DNA Plant Technology Corporation, he managed plant breeding programs which incorporated early innovations in plant biotechnology. He then managed the production and distribution of new products, which included a sweet snacking mini-pepper and one of the first genetically modified fresh market tomato varieties.
Subsequently, as a business development manager with BTG International, a freelance business development consultant and a senior licensing manager with Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties, Inc., Greg identified, acquired, filed patents and licensed intellectual property rights to new technology evolving from early stage research programs.
Greg received his Bachelors of Science degree from Penn State University in Agronomy and a Master of Science degree from South Dakota State University.
