Jay is a data scientist and Upstream consultant with expertise in data analytics, machine learning, operations management, and research. Their experiences have spanned small businesses, research projects, finance, and non-profit work. Some examples of their clients’ needs include optimizing supply chain logistics, providing oversight on data processes, and building complex models through research and estimation.
They are a 3-2 dual degree engineer having received a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research Engineering from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College. This combined program provided them with a well rounded background for holistic problem solving with technical knowledge. Jay enjoys using data science to learn about the world through interests like politics, music, and stats.
They are also a passionate member of the Ultimate Frisbee community and a regular league player. With nearly two decades of history with this exciting sport, Jay has spent the last five years coaching high school and college teams. They also advocate for gender & racial equity in Ultimate to promote positive social change whenever possible.
Outside of work, Jay is often leading Dungeons & Dragons games or reading Stephen King novels.
